Departure & First Mountain Stop

On January 17, 2025, the adventure began as I drove to Canach, Luxembourg, to pick up the Weinsberg Cara Suite 700 ME camper. With everything set, I embarked on the first leg of the journey: driving six hours to Munich to pick up my friend who was joining me. From there, we continued for another two hours to Innsbruck to gather all my skiing equipment.

Our first destination for the night was Hochfügen in Zillertal. After nearly 12 hours of travel, we finally arrived at the parking spot, greeted by a stunningly clear sky filled with stars. Our main goal for this trip was to capture amazing footage and chase the best powder. However, the weather was too good, making it challenging to find fresh snow.

Chasing Powder & Growing the Crew

The first day on the slopes was spent skiing and scouting for better conditions. On the second day, we managed to find some decent snow and made the most of it. Since we needed electricity, we moved on to our next ski resort: Gerlos in Zillertal. Here we spent the night at a campsite. Once again, we were treated to breathtaking views and a crystal-clear night sky.

The following day, we explored the ski resort and enjoyed some great runs before making a quick stop to replace our gas canister. Later that day, we returned to Innsbruck to pick up another friend, completing our group.

Exploring Paznaun Valley

From Innsbruck, we drove to See in the Paznaun Valley, spending the night in the ski resort parking lot. The next morning, we set our sights on Ischgl, hoping to find some untouched powder based on a tip from a friend. Unfortunately, strong winds had impacted the snow, leaving us with less-than-ideal conditions. Despite this, we had a fantastic day exploring, taking photos, and enjoying some après-ski fun.

That evening, we headed to Kappl in the Paznaun Valley for the night.

Weather Challenges & New Resorts

The next day's weather wasn’t in our favor, so we skied only briefly before heading to a campsite in Landeck to recharge our batteries. The following morning, we set off for Fiss to explore yet another ski resort. Since the powder had mostly disappeared, we made the most of our time skiing different resorts before returning to Zillertal, where we stayed the night in Kaltenbach.

Park Fun in Mayrhofen

Our next stop was Mayrhofen, famous for its snow park. We spent the day skiing and filming before heading back to Kaltenbach to meet more friends who had joined with their own camper. The following day, we returned to Mayrhofen for more park fun.

That evening, we treated ourselves to a stay at a campsite with a swimming pool and sauna. Living the good life!

Fresh Snow Finally Arrives

The forecast finally delivered some good news. Snow was on the way! Since it wasn’t expected until later in the day, we took our time in the morning before heading back up to Hochfügen. Driving in snowy conditions put our camper to the test, but it handled it well.

That afternoon, we finally got to ski in fresh snow, and it was everything we had hoped for. To celebrate, we enjoyed ice-cold beers sitting in front of our camper, completely satisfied.

Setbacks & Cozy Evenings

Unfortunately, the next morning looked very different. Rising temperatures and strong winds had ruined the snow, making conditions dangerous. With our hopes for good skiing dwindling, we used the time to drive down to Fügen to stock up on supplies.

In the afternoon, we played some bowling in Hochfügen while waiting for more friends to arrive in another camper. The forecast for the next day looked promising, and our spirits were high.

Jackpot Powder in See

After a fun evening of bowling, cooking, and playing cards in the camper, we woke up to a major disappointment, rain... A quick decision was made to drive back to See in the Paznaun Valley. After two hours of driving in a gloomy mood, we finally found what we had been searching for. Half a meter of fresh snow!

The rest of the day was spent skiing and having an absolute blast. We stayed in See that night, knowing the next day’s forecast promised sunshine.

The Perfect Powder Day & Finale

What followed was every skier’s dream, a bluebird powder day. We spent the day doing tricks in the backcountry and soaking in the perfect winter conditions.

For our final night, we drove to Prutz and camped there, making it easy to access Serfaus for our last full day of skiing. After one final day on the slopes together, we returned to Innsbruck, where I dropped off my gear at my apartment.

That evening, we met up with friends in the city, enjoyed a great night out, and ended our journey by camping in the streets of Innsbruck.

The next morning, it was time to head back, first to Munich to drop off my friend, and then all the way back to Luxembourg, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure.
