Early Sunday morning, somewhere in Luxembourg, a few weeks ago…

Giggles and voices wake me up. "Mummy, it is today!" I hear someone saying to me while my eyes are still closed.

Oh yes, it is today! The fun family day with our good friends, where we have decided to visit Elfy Park in the French Ardennes, approximately 2 hours’ drive from Luxembourg, with a 9-seater minibus from emile weber.

Two families: 2 mums, 2 dads, and 5 children aged 6 to 11 years old. We had been dreaming about this trip for a long time as we are all busy working parents. The opportunity to be together and share these moments during our travel was very important to us.

I showed the children the photos of the selected vehicle and they got excited: “This one can fit us all, mummy.” “Are you happy we are driving all together?” I asked my children, but I already knew the answer. They were overly excited.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a polite employee who, after checking the details of our booking and drivers’ licenses, presented us with our minibus. Although the morning was grey, on the way through the magnificent Belgian and French Ardennes, we were welcomed by a bright sun smiling at us. The trip made us all very happy! The children were chatting among themselves, they had all brought their books and other activities, and we adults chose the music and talked. The seats were very comfortable, we had plenty of legroom, and the driving was very pleasant.

Elfy Park had a fairy tale feeling and keeps everyone active in a beautiful natural setting just next to the Lake of Vieilles Forges. Trampolines, swings, fairies’ homes, forest playgrounds, and the famous giant by artist Thomas Dambo, “Valdemar the Walker,” were all there. The children were delighted, and we, parents, became children again, having fun, and sliding down the tube slides. We couldn't stop laughing.

We explored every corner of the park, took lots of photos, played together, and enjoyed the activities. We were also pleasantly surprised to discover this area. The lake was amazing, with beach bars and restaurants, a cute little wooden hut selling ice cream, a playground on the lake, and water sports. This is a perfect destination for families with children and more.

After we enjoyed a delicious meal, it was time to return home. In the minibus on the way back, there was a beautiful silence: happy, tired children sleeping in their seats and jazz playing for the rest of us.
