Norway Road Trip with WebCamper - an unforgettable family trip
March 23, 2023 | by TravelmatKanner
Join our family on an unforgettable road trip from Luxembourg to Norway with the WebCamper.
Believe it or not, we have never traveled by camper car before, so with a touch of excitement and a hint of fear, our family embarked on our first camper journey with the Weinsberg Cara Home 600 DKG. From Voyages Emile Weber's diverse offering of campers, this model was the best choice for us as a family, offering us the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and freedom to explore at our own pace. On top, we were really happy about was that WebCamper offers pet-friendly caravans, which allows us to bring along our beloved golden retriever.
Preparation and Planning:
Before the trip, we took the time to plan our itinerary and learn more about Norway and sought insider tips from a Norwegian friend. The WebCamper team was very helpful with all our questions. In particular, they gave us detailed explanations about the camper, including a comprehensive demonstration of how to empty the toilet, how to get fresh water, and the electronics in the motorhome. We particularly enjoyed the demonstration of the GPS, which was set to show all the campsites in each area we drove through. In addition, we were provided with all the necessary documents, including emergency numbers that we could contact 24/7 in case of need. This was a fantastic peace-of-mind feature.
Life on the Road:
On Saturday, 1 April 2023, we set off early in the morning for our ten-day adventure. The driving feeling was incredible. Equipped with an automatic transmission, detailed GPS, large mirrors, and a rearview camera with fantastic visibility. The built-in Bluetooth function quickly became one of our favorite features, as it allowed us to connect our phones and listen to our own music and podcasts, and answer calls during the drive.
In the Weinsberg Cara Home 600 DKG camper, you have enough space to live in, enough things to cook your food, and lots of quality time with your family, with your children, and exploring new places. In terms of equipment, the WebCamper has everything you need: bedding and towels, washing up liquid. Even the kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary appliances and cooking utensils to prepare our own meals, as well as a mini-barbecue, chairs and a table. The WebCamper has plenty of storage space. They are all equipped with lockable doors or closed cupboards to keep everything safe during your trip.
Family Bonding and Quality Time:
The possibility for our children to sit safe and comfortable at the table with their seat belts, while reading a book, playing a game, or eating a snack made the long hours we spent on the road an enjoyable experience. We played many board games inside the camper, read our books, talked, and laughed. We learned to live together in a smaller space. The children helped with the daily chores and were happily occupied.
Camping and Cozy Nights:
We had booked most of the campsites we stayed at in Norway online. Norwegian campsites are located in the most incredible places. Even if you want to visit big cities as we did, the campsites are located only a few kilometers from the city, by lakes or in forests, and the city center is easily accessible by public transport. It's really stress-free.
When we arrived at the campsite, we plugged in the camper with the electricity and used the special wheel rack when parked to make sure the camper was aligned. The first night in the camper was surprisingly comfortable for the whole family. The cozy atmosphere, soft bedding, and gentle lighting made our sleep incredibly peaceful.
Highlights of the Journey through Norway:
While our entire road trip was filled with unforgettable experiences, a few stand out as true highlights.
The drive with the WebCamper through the Laerdal Tunnel, which at 24.5 kilometers is the longest road tunnel in the world, was a great experience. Another highlight was the route from Stavanger to Bergen and then to Oslo, which for us is the most picturesque route in Norway. You will be fascinated by the beauty of nature, the landscapes, and the change from sunny valleys to snowy mountains. For us, the great advantage of a camper was that we could stop at any time to rest, walk our dog or just enjoy the pristine landscape views and breathe the fresh Norwegian mountain air.
Our road trip with WebCamper in Norway exceeded all our expectations and turned into an incredible journey filled with breathtaking landscapes, family quality time, and unforgettable memories. The combination of comfort, convenience, and the freedom to explore at our own pace offered by our “mobile-home”, made this trip an absolute pleasure for the whole family. One thing is for sure: we are looking forward to our next family trip with WebCamper.

"After our trip, the kids wanted us to buy our own motorhome, but for us, it's clear that it's better to rent a camper, because you don't have to worry about where you'll park it throughout the year and you're sure to always have the best quality motorhome for your trip."
